Technology Program

Instructional technology begins in Primary through the Elementary Level programs. As members of the 21st Century, our children are well aware of the advanced technology that exists all around them. Students use technology as a daily tool for communicating with others. They are active participants in the information gathering process. Our goal at Lotus Montessori Academy is to help our students learn to make wise and responsible choices when obtaining, generating, manipulating and presenting information. All students participate in our STEAM program. Understanding the process of STEAM has been known to improve student success in other curriculum areas of the classroom. Kindergarten level students are introduced to the keyboard, the different parts of the computer and proper use of the mouse. Lower Elementary technology classes build upon these previously acquired basic skills to learn use of different software applications, such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Kidpix, Kidspiration, and Inspiration.
